A long road to wander But a short path to the sea The ocean inside you Keeps calling to me You’ve carried disappointment Like a body on your back Send it down the river and be free When lightning flashes overhead Remember what your mother said You can’t know What you don’t know You’ve gotta let go Let the day show you how Oh you can’t know What you don’t know You’ve gotta let go somehow I’ll take you with me If you’ll come along Tell me your secrets I’ll hold them strong We’ll build a house here We’ll write our own song One note, one nail at a time When lightning flashes overhead Remember what your mother said You can’t know What you don’t know You’ve gotta let go Let the day show you how Oh you can’t know What you don’t know You’ve gotta let go somehow

I don’t wanna live as if I’m fast asleep I don’t wanna love as if I’m in too deep I got a burning in my breastbone I got a yearning I can't let go I don’t wanna I don’t wanna I don’t wanna let go Let me love you now Help me let my guard down You're the sun on my branches at the break of dawn Melting the frost and starting the song Let me love you now I don’t wanna talk unless I tell the truth I don’t wanna sing unless I sing for you I got a burning in my breastbone I got a yearning I can't let go I don’t wanna I don’t wanna I don’t wanna let go Let me love you now Help me let my guard down You're the sun on my branches at the break of dawn Melting the frost and starting the song Let me love you now Let me love you now I got a burning in my breastbone I got a yearning I can't let go Let me love you now Let me love you now

I’ve been thinking, about me and you We’ve been sinking What are we gonna do? So much hurting, so much crying Is it worth it even trying? I don’t wanna lose a friend I don’t wanna keep pretending we’re ok I don’t wanna let you down I don’t wanna watch you drown again Don’t slip away from me, don’t slip away This love, this love is all we’ve got This love this love is never not enough This love is all we’ve got This love, this love is never not enough I been hoping there’s still a way We could hold on. There’s gonna a better day So much living we gotta do I won’t give in when I’m holding you I don’t wanna lose a friend I don’t wanna keep pretending we’re ok I don’t wanna let you down I don’t wanna watch you drown again Don’t slip away from me, don’t slip away This love, this love is all we’ve got This love this love is never not enough This love is all we’ve got This love, this love is never not enough Everyone thinks we’re crazy I don’t know why I still believe We got a love worth saving I swear you’re stuck with me This love, this love is all we’ve got This love, this love is never not enough This love is all we’ve got This love, this love is never not enough This love Enough This love Never not enough Yeah I’ve been thinking, about me and you We’ve been sinking What are we gonna do?

I know it's been lonely Yeah I know it's been rough I know you’re gonna show me How to get to back the good stuff We been trying go solo But it wasn't enough Could we get off of that high road And get back to the good stuff? A little more hope, a little more gladness A little more smile, a little less sadness in Your heart Lately I’ve been wanting to hold you Pull you a little bit closer Whatever happens now we’re gonna make It together Right now, we don't even need to know how Follow the sun and then somehow We’ll figure out our forever And get back to the (haa-aah, hoo-ooh) Get back to the good stuff (haa-aah, hoo-ooh) Get back to the good stuff Were going out on a limb now, we’re livin’ Off the cuff I wanna dive right in with you And get back to the good stuff Giving more love, doing more kindness Giving more hugs, doing more shining in The dark Lately I’ve been wanting to hold you Pull you a little bit closer Whatever happens now we’re gonna make It together Right now, we don't even need to know how Follow the sun and then somehow We’ll figure out our forever And get back to the (haa-aah, hoo-ooh) We’ll get back to the good stuff (haa-aah, hoo-ooh) Seeing old friends, taking new chances Setting new trends, doing old dances in the Street Let’s go Cause lately I’ve been wanting to hold you Pull you a little bit closer Whatever happens now we’re gonna make It together Right now, we don't even need to know how Follow the sun and then somehow We’ll figure out our forever And get back to the (haa-aah, hoo-ooh) We’ll get back to the good stuff (haa-aah, hoo-ooh) Come on get back the good stuff (haa-aah, hoo-ooh) We’re getting back the good stuff (haa-aah, hoo-ooh) Get back to the good stuff

One day, we’ll be looking back on this and we’ll say Aren’t you happy that we did it our way? Everyone we knew was saying ‘no way!’ But we were never listening anyway So don’t be just standing in the doorway Don’t you know we gotta hit the highway Darling this is gonna be a good day, and I’ve gotta say that I’m not bad myself but you’re amazing! You’re amazing One day, I’ll be looking back on this and I’ll say: I’m so happy that you said you would stay There were times I know that I was crazy Fraying at the edges and you saved me I'm losing count of chances that you gave me You’re laughing at me dancing really badly Telling me the reasons why you’d gladly do it all again ‘cause I’m not bad myself but you’re amazing! You’re amazing I’m not bad myself but you’re amazing! You’re amazing Well hey, words could never adequately convey Everything you’re giving to me today But holding you is better than a holiday Leaving you I dread it like exam day And at the risk of sounding kinda risqué Everything to now has been the foreplay Darling I would follow you to Norway Or anywhere you wanted, ‘cause I’m not bad myself but you’re amazing! You’re amazing I’m not bad myself but you’re amazing! You’re amazing I’m not bad myself but you’re amazing! You’re amazing I’m not bad myself but you’re amazing! You’re amazing I’m not bad myself but you’re amazing! You’re amazing One day, when we’re getting wrinkly and our hair’s grey A rusty old banger in the driveway One of us’ll maybe wear a toupee And I will be in love with you

Go Easy 03:31
What if I just wanna lay here in bed Crack my back and rest my head? What if you just wanna lay here in bed Quit your job and read a book instead? Oh the taste of toast and coffee It's really not me, it's really not me Monday morning left an hour ago I'm stuck in my room with the midday glow Dirty dishes piling up in the sink And the clothes in the corner are staring at me I can feel your heartbeat Warming up your cold feet We don't have to be superheroes so Go easy, just go easy oh We can figure all out nice and slow Go easy, just go easy oh I just wanna recover I just wanna be human for a while We don't have to be superheroes so Go easy, just go easy oh Every now and then I wanna escape Move to the country and live by a lake There was something I was building with you But there's nothing to win and there's nothing to lose Yeah there was something I was building with you But there's nothing to win and there's nothing to lose I can feel your heartbeat Warming up your cold feet We don't have to be superheroes so Go easy just go easy oh We can figure all out nice and slow Go easy just go easy oh I just wanna recover I just wanna be human for a while We don't have to be superheroes so Go easy just go easy oh Go easy just go easy oh Go easy just go easy oh What if I just wanna lay here in bed Crack my back and rest my head? What if you just wanna lay here in bed Quit your job and write that book instead?

about

The Edmonton-based troubadour, Martin Kerr, has been making connections with people through his music for years. Through heartfelt lyrics, delicate instrumentation, and sparse production, he explores the nuances of everyday life as well as its wonders with a poetic and poignant perspective. Throughout his career, Martin has supported Sarah McLachlan during a stadium show, opened for Walk Off The Earth and shared a stage with Blue Rodeo. He’s performed with the Edmonton Symphony and graced stages in over 35 countries. Most recently, Kerr joined Dermot Kennedy on his cross-Canada tour. Martin’s live show is a wondrous showcase of his natural ability as a storyteller conveying vulnerability, adventure, hope, and authentic connections.

Speaking of the EP, Kerr says, "There's so much I don't know - about music, about life. I'm learning to be okay with that. I'm learning that being a creative human requires letting go of expectations and stepping into the unknown. These songs are both light and dark. I hope they speak to your heart and let you feel something real."
